Our personal training protocol is research based on how the body works. No opinions or the latest routine out of a magazine or off the internet. A lot of people think that in order to lose fat that they have to spend hours upon hours doing cardio. Cardio is in fact one of the least efficient forms of weight loss that a person could do to lose fat. To lose one pound of fat you have to place your body in a 3500 calorie deficit. One pound of fat has 3500 calories! An hour of moderate paced cardio will burn around 350 calories depending on your intensity and a few other factors. So if you wanted to lose a pound of body fat by way of treadmill you would have to run for about 10 hours. Even then you will be losing mostly water and muscle, not the fat you are trying to get rid of. With high intensity strength training only twice a week and following a doable diet you can lose one to two pounds of fat every week! The more muscle a person has on their body the more efficient their body will work at burning the fat for energy. With this training protocol much of the wasted time, inefficiencies, injuries and lack of progress are erased. Anybody can benefit from proper strength training.
